Meet Todd Payne

Since the day we were married, 26 years ago, my wife and I have called Cordova home and happily raised our two children here.

The community we fell in love with was filled with quiet neighborhoods, suburban charm, friendly people, and convenience to everything our family needed.  Known for its slogan, “Farms, Flowers, and Fellowship” it is important to keep that slogan true.  Keeping it true means fighting against those forces that over the years have tried to bring the area down.  Yesterday, we faced a strip club, and the potential of Wal-Mart leaving Germantown Parkway.  We fought hard and won.

Now we need a fighter to tackle the litter that fills our city streets and county roads.  We need a fighter against the out-of-town landlords who don’t care about the property they own, from mowing the lawns to painting and general maintenance.  And we need a fighter for our schools, so people from all over the region will want to move here for quality education.

Cordova finally has a County Commission District of its own, District 5.  I want to continue the fight I got involved with 25 years ago.  I want to be your Shelby County Commissioner and preserve the values and quality of life that we all moved here for.

That is why I am asking for your vote, for your support because I know you care like I do.  Please vote Todd Payne for County Commission, District 5.

Proven Track Record Dedicated to Cordova

I helped save Wal-Mart on Germantown Parkway by fighting Wal-Mart’s desire to expand to a new location.

I successfully fought the strip club on Fischer Steel Road, which closed several years ago.

I assisted in the approval of planting the crepe myrtles in the median on Germantown Parkway.

Established by-laws and led unprecedented growth for the Cordova Republican Club

Environment Pollution

Make our community beautiful again by picking up trash and addressing panhandlers.

Hold out of state property owners accountable.

Children in School Bus

There is a perception that our public schools are inferior and not educating our students.

I will hold our public schools accountable for teaching every student what they need to succeed in life.

Crime Scene Tape

You and I are also concerned about crime. Cordova residents are concerned about the felony carjacking at local gas stations, burglary and robbery of businesses and our homes, and the misdemeanor and social disorder of the drag racing and street shows.  Cordova needs a strong and fully funded Sheriff's Department.

“We have a wonderful community with hard-working people, but we have accepted leaders who are either self-serving or do nothing for too long. I am running to represent everyone in District 5 who obeys the laws, pays taxes, serves their community, and loves their neighbor.

That is who we are as Cordovans.”
